We have many farm animals and offer a mostly outdoor day, rain or shine!  The children have ample time to play and explore in the midst of a very rhythmical day. The children sing, bake, and play through the day while learning to be the best humans that they can be.

Azalea Cottage Playgarden, located in south Sebastopol, is an outdoor wonderland, filled with animals, both wild and domestic, and as many raspberries as your little one can eat! Our days are filled with story and song, work and play, becoming ourselves, and embracing our friendships, all under the loving guidance of an experienced teacher, who is known for “creating loving, trusting relationships in which children can safely grow and learn.”  Healthy social experiences, problem solving, teamwork, communication, motor skills, coordination, manners and hard work are all taught in a playful, flexible atmosphere, held with rhythm and healthy boundaries. Azalea Cottage is open every weekday, except Wednesdays, from 9-1, and serves children ages 2-5.  Two healthy meals are shared together each day.

We are an all-outdoor preschool program aiming to protect childhood and inspire a love of nature through imaginative play and healthy relationships, while being held by a loving teacher. We are a “home away from home” with a daily and seasonal rhythm focusing on social skills. We serve and learn about healthy whole food, and how it grows and nurtures our bodies. An appreciation of the magical world of nature that surrounds us is nurtured in the children as we spend one morning each week in the wild spaces of a nearby forest, hiking, wandering, climbing trees, and observing local plants and wildlife. Our daily “work” along with singing, painting, and gardening, round out our experiences through a developmental approach. We take fully potty-trained children ages 3-6 years, Monday–Thursday 9-1. Homeschooling kindergarten children are also welcome to come and play with us!
